How to verify your domain name Google Search Console
Verifying your domain in Google Search Console is important for tracking your website's performance in Google search results. It allows you to:
- Monitor site traffic
- Identify issues
- Submit sitemaps
- And more
Note: Consult your IT team before editing DNS records. Incorrect changes can disrupt your website and email.

Steps:
- Log in to Google Search Console: Go to Google Search Console and add your domain.
- Choose Verification Method: Select 'Domain' verification to verify the entire domain, including subdomains.
- Get TXT Record: You'll be provided with a TXT verification code. Copy this code.
- Edit DNS Settings:
- Sign in to your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare).
- Navigate to DNS settings and click 'Add Record'.
- Choose 'TXT' as the record type.
- In the 'Name' field, enter '@' for the root domain.
- Paste the copied TXT verification code in the 'Content' field.
- Save the changes.
- Verify in Google Search Console: Return to Google Search Console and click 'Verify'.
Note: DNS propagation can take from a few minutes to 48 hours, depending on your provider.
